Single Flanged Bayonet pin Sleeve- will fit a number of brands of rudders (not just smart track rudders). Suits Plastic skis without the metal insert including Surge, NK Kayak, BaySport, Liker amongst others. Can also be used in new builds etc. Fits most rudders with a Bayonet Pin including (but not limited to) Surge and Smart Track The flange allows you to secure the sleeve to the kayak with a set screw to stop it twisting or pulling out. This is commonly required in plastic kayaks where there is a hole for the sleeve to go into but gluing it into position is not a long term viable method of securing it. In new installs into Composite or wooden kayaks the flange is still handy as it can be used to fasten the sleve into position and hold it as the correct angle etc whilst waiting for resin to harden as well it’s quite handy to hold onto to stop it from dropping through into the hull etc. Made of Stainless Steel MPN: 44-402 This is one of the most common rudder mount fittings you’ll come across on sea kayaks. The bayonet fitting means the rudder can only be fitted and removed at a specific angle. This makes it harder to accidentally knock the rudder loose or drop it while handling the boat.
