Compared to ordinary flat aluminium blades, Smart Track’s Foil design reduces drag and significantly increases turning efficiency. For use with SmartTrack rudder systems this is the Largest size of their rudder blade specifically aimed at larger kayaks such as tandems. The Tandem size is also suited to high stern kayaks, kayak sailing and some sit-on-tops (fishing etc.), due to the longer blade length. This is a replacement blade only. Used to replace an existing blade (for a different size) or a damaged missing blade. Complete rudder systems from smart track are available and this is compatible with all their standard models of rear rudder mounts (Smart Track Hybrid Foil use a different width blade so is not compatible with those models) . Smart Track Rudder Blade are spring loaded so are held in one position (Down in use) with an integrated spring (easily replaceable) and moved to the other position and held in place using a cord and deck cleat.
