Smart Track Ski Rudder Blade Housing is the smallest of the metal Original Smart Track Housings. Because of this the rudder blade can be retracted out of the water only 90 degrees see images (if uphaul line is fitted) Many ski paddlers do not fit the uphaul line, in this case it is not an issue. Smart Track Housings Bayonet Pin inserts in a hole drilled in the flat area of the rear deck in which the housing pin drops in and pivots to lock it in place. Your kayak may require a bayonet pin insert. The Extended Tiller plate is measured from the leading edge of the blade housing to the centre of the pin is 40mm. The Race & Ski housings are primarily for surf skis and race kayaks. The ski housings are the smallest of the SmartTrack rudder housings. This is found on some Stellar Kayak models but some stellar skis use the Race housing which has more features but the blade sits a bit lower. There are a fair number of different Smart Track Rudder Options- if you replacing a damaged version it is safest to use the same model. Model names should be written on the rudder housing (making it easy to figure out) but if that is worn or if you are not sure here is an explainer of the different options and models Smart Track Ski Rudder Blade housings are extremely rugged and made of corrosion proof extruded alloy parts that are machined for precision fit, and coated with Teflon® 6061-T6. SmartTrack Ski Mount uses a bayonet pin to attach to your kayak so will require the appropriate hole with internal locking bar to secure it. If you are mounting to a ski without the locking bar but that has a retainer washer and screw(some older model ski’s) this mount will still work.
