Smart Track’s Hybrid Foil Rudder System is a rear assembly with rudder blade (this model of smart track rudder flips over 270° to sit on the rear deck when not in use (Rudder stowage mount here). This model requires a bayonet pin mounting hole commonly found recessed into the deck of many brands of kayaks. Some kayaks may have the hole but not the bayonet pin sleeve (here) or sleeve can be installed without the hole (will require drilling etc). Bayonet Pins feature a cut out in the shaft to allow the rudder to be secured in a blind shaft and then rotated to the operating position (like a bayonet fitting on a light glove) and not fall out when upside down or bumped This is a spring loaded rudder and replacement springs are available. Rudder Blades or the blade mount are not available separately at this time.
