The product has broad fungicidal and bactericidal activity, destroying Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including the causative agent of tuberculosis and fungi, and inactivating both enveloped and non-enveloped viruses (including HBV, HIV, rota- and adenovirus). CHEMISEPT G is formulated with pure, low-volatility ethyl alcohol to help prevent the development of respiratory allergies. After skin antisepsis, a microbe-hostile environment remains on the skin for up to three hours due to the long-acting disinfectant contained in the product. After the contact time, the skin’s normal microflora is quickly restored. The product is colorless and therefore suitable for use in cosmetic procedures involving incisions. USAGE: Preoperative skin preparation: Treat the surgical area with CHEMISEPT G. Use forceps and a sterile swab soaked with the product and apply it to the skin with thorough rubbing. Perform antisepsis of the surgical area twice, with a contact time of 1.5 minutes each time. The total contact time for preoperative skin preparation is 3 minutes. Incision drapes may only be applied to dry skin. For aseptic surgery, begin antisepsis at the planned incision site and move outward toward the periphery. For septic surgery, begin antisepsis from the periphery and move toward the septic area. Skin antisepsis before injections and blood sampling: Moisten a swab with the product and treat the injection or blood sampling site. Take a new swab and moisten the skin a second time, allowing the product to dry. Contact time: 30 seconds. Skin antisepsis before intra-articular injections, puncture, arthroscopy, and cannulation: Moisten a swab or pad and treat the skin in the operative area. Repeat the procedure a second time using a new swab. Contact time for skin preparation: 30 seconds. As CHEMISEPT G has been tested against BVDV (HCV surrogate), Vaccinia, Adeno, Rota, and Herpes viruses, the product inactivates all enveloped viruses. Based on these tests, CHEMISEPT G is also effective against so-called blood-borne viruses such as HBV, HCV, and HIV, as well as virus groups such as orthomyxoviruses (including influenza virus H5N1) and herpesviruses (Herpes simplex virus).
