This Cable is great for Rudders and has a 2 mm diameter. Sold per metre it is simple cable and will need some crimps (and heat shrink if you want it to look neater :)) to mount it to your rudder and control points ( Foot Pedals or Lever). Please note some kayaks have smaller internal cable routing tubes and will prefer thinner cable. We do sell rudder cable Kits at 1/16 inch (1.58 mm) diameter that fit most tubing including narrower -this kit also come with crimps heat shrink and cable end housings for the rudder termination end. You will require some tools to fit the crimps and cut to length- typically a good set of side cut pliers or wire cutters will cut it easily and Vice Grips will have the force required to secure the crimps. 7 x 7 refers to the construction of the cable or rope and gives strength with low stretch under load as well importantly flexibility and kink resistance.
