Surge Kayak Handle – Made of 25mm tubular webbing with a stiffener insert for carrying. Very Light Weight! Particularly suitable for Racing kayaks and ski’s where a bow and stern handle are wanted/ required for safety (e.g. Avon) will not add much weight or flap around on the water or the car. Does not come with Hardware and you may wish to reinforce the base of the handle with a flat piece (plastic etc) for particularly light weight decked kayaks to prevent lateral movement when lifting (especially if full of water etc) Alternate handles are available You will need to use a solid fixing to secure these handles. Options include Screw into an inset thread using a G316 grade stainless screw (bolt) (typically you can reuse the existing hardware but metric thread is available here. This will not suit most American kayaks but will suit many kayaks made in New Zealand, Australia and China) Screw through the deck into a washer and nut It’s best to use a neoprene backed stainless steel washer for better water sealing but a regular stainless steel washer will work adequately) Use blind 3 arm expansion rivets (10 pack) – these are great for the bow and stern of ski’s and racing kayaks where access to the inside is limited. They will securely hold the handle and resist pull through without damaging composite materials.
