The Keepers Foot Brace Kit is the most commonly used footbrace in the world. These OEM replacement footbraces are lightweight and easy to adjust. Tracks use a universal mounting hole pattern that works with most sit-inside or sit-on-top kayak models. Simple lever-pull design on pedals allow for easy length adjustment Suitable for use in home built kayaks or as an upgrade. Newer models of Wilderness Systems kayaks will have the Keepers XL footrest system which is larger and has longer rails. This kit will act as a direct replacement for the XL but the reverse is not true. The XL may not fit into the space left by this standard model becuase although it has the same mounting hole spacing it is physically longer an larger. Other larger brands that have used the Keepers footbrace system include Mainstream and Islander, Older P&H Kayaks and Old Town kayaks. Keepers foot braces are made of plastic and come with screws commonly used for mounting to sit-in-side kayaks. Sit on Top Kayaks may require extra mounting hardware (washers and nuts) depending on the system, however you can usually reuse existing mounting hardware if replacing a keepers foot rest set. The rails are 15 5/8 inches long by 1.5 inch wide, by 5/8 inch deep. Bolt holes on ends are 14 5/8 inches on center, one additional hole off center.
