Harmony Replacement Skid Plate Kit to replace the factory fitted skid plate as fitted on the stern keel of various Wilderness Systems & Perception kayaks. Comes complete (as shown) with skid plate, 2 screws and 2 washers. This is a replacement for an already fitted skid plate that is worn or damaged. Designed to be replaced when worn out this is a sacrificial use item (rather than repairing the hull.) Kit comes with mounting screws. These screws insert into moulded inserts in the kayak’s hull and don’t require access inside the hull. This skid plate is fitted to the following Wilderness Systems kayaks made after (around) 2011. If your kayak doesn’t already have the plate it is not able to be retrofitted. Aspire series (100 & 105), Tarpon Series, Tsunami (120/125/140/145), Pungo (120, 105 & 125), Recon, Ride, Thresher, Commander Series and Radar 115 It is also fitted to the Perception models made after that date. Models include the Cove, Crank, JoyRide 10/12, Prodigy II 14.0/ 13.5 sit-inside kayaks, Access Outlaw, Pescador 10/12, Pescador Pro 10/12 and Tribe (all sizes) Mad River Commander Series This Skid plate is sometimes known as the “Type A” or the “Tribe/ Commander” model in some manuals. Designed only as a replacement skid plate on the stern end of the keel for kayaks originally moulded to accept this skid plate it will fit neatly and cleanly onto the hull. The plate may fit other kayaks. Note that there is another shape available for these brands that fits other models. Called the type B Plate it has a different shape and dimensions. This skid plate is approx 15cm long and has a square end shaped a bit like a chisel, (6″ x 1 1/8″ x ¾”). The 2 screw holes are approx 7.6cm (3″) apart centre to centre. These holes are not round to allow for adjustability for variation in the threaded insert location.
